A Job Well Done
Congratulations to Seneca Jones Timber Company for receiving another BACKBONE AWARD from the Oregon Department of Forestry - Eastern Lane Unit. This award was in recognition of support and suppression of The Tumblebug Complex in 2009.
----- An award for Seneca Jones Timber Company from the American Fisheries Society's 2010 Award of Excellence in Riparian Management in their Western Division.
This plaque was awarded for work by the Partnership for the Umpqua Rivers (PURS) that took place in the Upper Umpqua River area. The objective was to improve fish spawning and rearing habitat through the placement of logs and boulders on Wolf Creek and Little Wolf Creek, where it crosses Seneca's property. It took two years to complete the project, which took place during the Summers of 2008 and 2009. The logs and boulders were put into place by using yarders and helicopters. Dave Archambault, Seneca’s Forest Engineer in Roseburg, serves as a director for PURS and accepted the award for Seneca. ----- Congratulations to Seneca Jones Timber Company on winning the BACKBONE AWARD from the Oregon Department of Forestry, Eastern Lane Unit. Seneca was recognized for Support and Suppression of the Oakridge Fires in 2008. At Seneca, we only know how to do something one way: the right way.
