Today’s marketplace is demanding more and more that resources used in the manufacturing of building products come from responsibly managed forests.  Seneca continues to find ways to promote this long-time practiced philosophy.

Seneca Jones Timber Company has been a member of the nationally recognized  “Sustainable Forestry Initiative” (SFI) Program since 2000.  A list of those participating in this program can be viewed here.

The SFI Program is a comprehensive system of principles, objectives, and performance measures that certifies Seneca will manage its lands for, not only sustainable timber production, but also to protect and provide habitat for fish and wildlife, clean air and water, soils and recreational opportunities.

Seneca Jones Timber Company owns a 166,000-acre tree farm in Western Oregon.  This tree farm is the primary supplier of the raw material for our sawmills.

Seneca prides itself by utilizing “Best Management Practices” on its lands that meet, and more commonly exceed, the rules and regulations of both the Sustainable Forestry Initiative and the Oregon Forest Practices Act.

Through our sound forest management policies, coupled with our advanced sawmilling capabilities, the Seneca Family of Companies will continue to provide quality products to the marketplace.
